“Que sea lo que Dios quiera” is a picture book published by La Jaula Publicaciones in 2020. It was awarded the Ministry of Culture’s Grant for Illustrated Books. Set in 1968 in Ambalema, Colombia, it tells the story of a grieving widower who, consumed by sorrow, challenges the Church’s authority in a town where even the siesta is sacred. Through poetic text and evocative illustrations, the book captures themes of loneliness, frustration, and defiance.
